Post Conflict Special Program : UNESCO commits to support Côte d\'Ivoire

Alongside the Leadership Forum, the Ivorian president Mr. Alassane Ouattara and the Director of UNESCO Irina Bokova signed a memorandum in which UNESCO is committed to support Côte d\'Ivoire in its construction post-crisis in the areas of expertise.


President Alassane Ouattara\'s visit  to the headquarters of UNESCO on the occasion of the 36th General Conference of this institution was not in vain. Indeed, the Ivorian President, in his reconstruction of Côte d\'Ivoire after the crisis it went through, can count on the support of the United Nations Education, Sciences and culture Organization.


In a memorandum signed by the Ivorian Head of State and the Director of UNESCO Irina Bokova, this institution is committed to being alongside the Ivory Coast in its reconstruction phase.


Durind the leaders forum preceeding  the 36th Conference of UNESCO, the President of the Republic of Côte d\'Ivoire has exchanged views with the Director General of UNESCO on matters of common interest relating to, among other African development in general and on cooperation with Côte d\'Ivoire in particular.


The President of the Republic of Côte d\'Ivoire has welcomed the active support of UNESCO for his country and expressed the hope that the program be continued overall support special post-conflict in the areas of competence of UNESCO for the Côte d\'Ivoire adopted following Resolution 3460 of the 34th session of the General Conference in 2007, adjusting to the new dynamics of the country and taking into account its priority needs.


 the Director General, have marked the agreement of UNESCO for the continued support of the organization at this comprehensive program of special post-conflict areas of its competence with updates and necessary adjustments and indicate the availability of the organization to also mobilize its partners in its faveur.


Both parties welcomed their common view and are committed to strengthening the cooperation between Côte d\'Ivoire and UNESCO, \"as is the content of the memorandum that the Ivorian Head of State and the Director General of UNESCO signed on October 26 at the headquarters of this institution in Paris.

 \"I wishto express our gratitude to UNESCO for the support she has given us in its workfield.


And on top of that UNESCO has just sent a mission to Côte d\'Ivoire to be more specific in our needs in education, culture and other fields. We signed the first agreement of thanks but also desire to strengthen this cooperation and the CEO was very kind to welcome our request, \"welcomed President Ouattara. 


 This is an opportunity to salute the great work done by the Minister of Education Ms. Kandia Kamissoko CAMARA, who, during a mission to UNESCO has convinced the leaders of this institution on the credibility of new Ivorian authorities. So after this visit that UNESCO has decided to send a mission to Côte d\'Ivoire to mix with the realities on the ground. The signing of this memorandum is thus crowned the efforts of the minister already has made every effort to save the school after the Ivorian post-election crisis.
