On Tuesday December 5, 2023, Mr. KOUADIO Nanan Kouassi, Minister-Counsellor at the Permanent Delegation of Côte d'Ivoire to UNESCO, represented H.E. Mme BAKAYOKO-LY Ramata, on mission, at the Prix Richelieu-Senghor award ceremony held at the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris.
This prize, awarded since 1987 to personalities whose actions make an outstanding contribution to the promotion of the French language, was awarded this year (2023) to Mrs Marwa EL SAHN, Director and founder of the Centre d'activités francophones de la bibliothèque d'Alexandrie (CAF). She succeeds Madame Roukiatou Hampâté BÂ, awarded in 2022 for her work at the head of the Amadou Hampâté Bâ Foundation to safeguard and promote African oral heritage, collected and transcribed in French.
The Cercle Richelieu-Senghor, accredited to the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) as an NGO partner, is a forum for exchange and reflection on the Francophonie and cultural dialogue, and Ambassador BAKAYOKO-LY Ramata is a member of the Prize Committee.
