Delegation of Côte d\'Ivoire to UNESCO participates in la24ème the MAB-ICC session that meets from 9 to 13 July 2012 to review progress in implementing the recommendations adopted at its 23rd session, and Madrid Action Plan (MAP) adopted at its 20th session (Madrid, February 2008). He will discuss the future of MAB, especially in light of Rio + 20.

Important decisions on new sites to the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves and the MAB Young Scientists Awards and the Michel Batisse management of biosphere reserves will be taken by the Council. The MAB-ICC will elect a new Board at this session.
The Council consists of thirty-four member states of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, elected by the General Conference at its ordinary sessions, taking account of equitable geographical distribution, the need to ensure appropriate rotation, the representativeness of these States from an ecological perspective on the various continents and the importance of their scientific contribution to the international program.

Each Council member has one vote and may send to Council sessions as many experts or advisers as it deems appropriate.
