4th session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage

The fourth session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage was held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris (France) from 4 to 8 June 2012.

During this session, the General Assembly was asked to amend some of the Operational Guidelines in the light of experience gained by the Intergovernmental Committee during their implementation since 2008.

In particular doonné following the Committee\'s recommendation to amend the operational guidelines and procedures for reviewing the maximum limit of files to be processed annually by the Committee.

The General Assembly also proceeded with accreditation of NGOs for Assistance Advisory Committee and elections to renew half of the Members of the Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
