The Minister of Education, Ms. Kandia Camara, conducted Thursday, December 22, 2011, at the opening ceremony to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Ivorian National Commission for Unesco, the seat of Cerap located in Cocody Mermoz.
She congratulated the National Commission for UNESCO, which has always been at the heart of cooperation between Côte d\'Ivoire and this institution.
Such visionnary behaviour , she argued, will lead to the development of modern infrastructures in Côte d\'Ivoire as well as the appearance of efficient structures working in the fields of competences of UNESCO

Structures for training of trainers in the Higher Ordinary School (ENS)
The settlement of UNESCO Chairs at the Universities of Abidjan and Bouaké
She pointed out the importance of the establishment of a comprehensive special post conflict program in the various fields of competences of UNESCO for Côte d\'Ivoire just reactivated with the Memorandum of agreement signed in October by the head of state, President of the Republic Mr Alassane Ouattara and the Director General of UNESCO, Mrs. Irina Bokova
On behalf of the Government, Madam Minister of Education is committed to boost the National Commission for UNESCO in making its efforts more attractive.

The challenges that Côte d\'Ivoire national commission for UNESCO must continue to meet to open new perspectives for better involvement of Unesco in an environment marked by conflicts likely to endanger the implementation of the ideals of the institution.
For Secretary General of the National Commission, Prof. Bamba Lou Mathieu, the purpose of such a structure is to ensure the promotion and implementation of the mandate of UNESCO in the Ivory Coast through three types of relationships relationships that are:
The celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of Côte d\'Ivoire National commission for UNESCOn started on December 2, 2011, at its headquarters , based in Cocody.
It gathered partners at national level and international level such as ,UNESCO Secretary and the global network of committees which now has 196 members.
The first day of activities took place December 22, 2011, at Cerap Headquarter in Cocody Mermoz with panelists and the last day ended December 23, 2011 still within Cerap offices with thematic presentations.
